This is part of my Texas Skies Series. We live in Big Sky Country. This is the backside of a storm. I like backsides. Posted by Picasa

In June, 2005, my husband Max and I flew to Alaska to visit with daughter, Sharilynn, her husband Jerod, and our grand daughters, Miriam, Jade, and Bailey; they live in Ealge River outside of Ancorage. It was a life changing experience being in Alaska, unlike any place I have ever been. Our first trip was to Seward, but on the way, we stopped at Portage Glacier, shown here in the photo. It has melted so much, the tip is no longer visible from the road. Posted by Picasa

This is Exit Glacier park. It is amazing to see how they have marked where the glacier used to be as far back as 1870. Alaska is melting. Posted by Picasa

There was no way to directly access the glacier because of melt. I couldn't jump across, so I decided to hike up the path. Posted by Picasa

As big as it is, it's getting smaller. Posted by Picasa
